APR football club took a major step towards retaining their national football league title with a 3-0 win over Kibuye
League top scorer Djabir Mutarambirwa scored one for the military side and Elias Uzamukunda added a brace to give newly appointed Dutch coach Rene Feller a winning start on his national football debut.

The goal took Mutarambirwa’s league tally to eleven on level with Uzamukunda. With seven fixtures remaining to the end of this season, APR still leads the league table with 39 points from 15 league fixtures.

APR still have a game in hand against police. Atraco are still in the hunt for their first silverware after a resounding 2-0 victory over relegation-threatened Northern Province based Etincelles.

A Abedi Mulenda thunderbolt and a late strike from Ugandan import Michael Sebalinga gave Atraco the three point to stay one point behind nine-time league winners APR.

Jean Lomami also helped himself to the only goal of the game as Rayon Sport kept the top three in sight with a hard fought 1-0 victory over Police with 30 points and with two games in hand against Etincelles and a clash against second placed Atraco.

Kiyovu kept their hopes of a better league finish this season with a 0-0 draw AS Kigali at Mumena stadium on Saturday to stay fourth with 28 points. Today, the league resumes with Kiyovu traveling to Kanombe grounds to face out of danger Military.
