APR to move for Kagere

MEDDIE Kagere is highly likely to be an APR player next season, Times Sport can exclusively reveal.A source close to the club told this paper the military side has already penciled in the Police striker as the ideal player to solve their striking crisis which has been compounded by Seleman Ndikumana, who recently went AWOL."APR will definitely buy Kagere. The club has been monitoring him for some time and is impressed by both his club and country form,” the source told Times Sport yesterday. The 25-year old, who is the leading top scorer with 10 goals in 15 matches, told this paper that though he fancies a move to Europe, he would consider joining the champions if they came for him."I don’t know whether APR want me but they are the most successful club in the country and everyone would want to play in the club. But first, my top target is to play in Europe,” the Rwandan international said after Thursday morning training.APR Secretary General Kalisa Adolphe did not rule out their interest in the striker saying that he is an option that they might explore in the transfer window in July."We don’t talk about transfers before the window opens. But he is a good striker that we would want to add our squad."All that will be considered in July when the transfer window opens,” Kalisa said in a telephone interview yesterday.In nine games that Kagere has played for Amavubi, the striker has scored six goals. The Amavubi striker was also top scorer last season with 18 goals.
