Love

One too many times three simple words are longed for. Everyone lives and breathes to know that they are cherished and appreciated.  But these three simple words have become a problem, a case of pain.

One too many times three simple words are longed for. Everyone lives and breathes to know that they are cherished and appreciated.  But these three simple words have become a problem, a case of pain.

Love has become more painful than lovely. The drama attached to it has taken over and now when one heart finds another it’s a simple case of waiting for the other shoe to drop. In our heads it’s beautiful. The camera depicts it perfectly, but it is far from it.I would say love has become a telenovela on its own. Every Mexican soap has said it best. Loving one person and marrying another. Taylor Swift says it best in her song ‘Teardrops on my guitar’, a heart so hungry to the point it hurts. Another musician Melanie Fiona is well known for her song about love, when you love a person to the point it hurts you so much. Rarely being able to breathe is the state many of us are walking around with today.I’ll take a simple example of someone I know, three little words were everything. But the minute they were required to save something so beautiful, they were nowhere to be seen. It was a simple question but it turned all they had built over the years to dust. To find the strength to say ‘I love you’ is too much to ask from people today. Another case of this lasts a little longer. Pretty girl had everything she wanted in the palm of her hand, but the fear of trying something new scared her. Soon enough she found out just why she should have said something. It may be too late but the words ring in her head every now and then. The wish she has to go forward and let out every bit of how she feels may remain only a wish. Then I ask myself, why? What happened to the society? What happened to that part of us that was free and willing to say what we want to say without fear of the unknown. The words that were so cherished are rare, like diamonds, hard to keep like money and difficult to understand just like a physics class. I came to an early conclusion that love is meant for some, the ones who are out there and ready to say what they want and when they want. A painful pleasure it is, according to many, but it also a necessary painful pleasure. To find a way around it is impossible and the only way to avoid it is to go through it and to go through it is painful. So is love a curse? It could be for it has been known o bring people down to their knees. It has pulled many down and they are yet to find the strength to pick themselves up. It has dragged us through the mud and broken every part of us, but yet we always find a way to it. A curse has always let a thread of bad luck and so has love.Adele says it when she talks about setting fire to the rain, rolling in the deep and many more of her songs show how love has now been tagged of having more pain, disappointment and unnecessary tears.
