FORMER national rally champion Christakis Fitidis and Elefterois Mitraros will compete in the 2012 FIA African Rally Championship under a Ugandan competition license. While the pair could not be reached for comment yesterday, the switch could be attributed to tougher competition in the Uganda national rally championship. The pair, which has been drafted into this weekend’s Pine Ridge Mbarara Rally, expects stiff competition from Susan ‘Super Lady’ Muwonge, the first female Ugandan national champion.Fitidis will be flagged off ninth while Mitraros takes off in 13th place in the opening round which has attracted 40 entrants.
