Rwandans  are ready to hand Lesotho their second defeat in three days when the search for final group semi-final slot gets under today in the on going ICC cricket league in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The Rwandan national cricket side has so far won one and lost one game in the on going ICC series.

Victory against Lesotho would be the high point of the old timers as they seek to move up in International cricket council status.

"We’ve been comfortable throughout the tournament, whether it has been against Malawi, or against favorites Sierra Leone here, "said former Right Guards captain and national team veteran Hamza Nkuutu.

"It’s just about keeping our heads high with the same things we have shown the past.

"We are the team heading to the semifinals .It will be a fantastic achievement.”

"As a team we have looked for this opportunity since 2004. We have got the required exposure to progress and Lesotho is no threat to us.”

Rwanda is left with no option but to win today’s game against Lesotho if they are to reach the semi-finals.

If Rwanda records a win against Lesotho it will automatically qualify for the semi-finals as runners up to Sierra Leone who have so far won against the group’s light weights Lesotho and set pacers Rwanda.

Rwanda is drawn in the toughest group alongside 2006 finalists Sierra Leone, Malawi and Lesotho. In yesterday’s group stage fixtures, Rwanda beat Malawi by 5 wickets.

However, their joy was short-lived as Rwanda team lost to Sierra Leone by 70 runs as heavy rains forced the game to be called off.

Sierra Leone who is 2006 finalists has recorded two wins thus leading the group. Rwanda is second after winning against Malawi.

Sierra Leone battles Malawi in the group’s other fixture.
