Who are the Rwandans nominated for Magic Vibe Awards?

RWANDA’S ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY has over the years boosted significantly and that seems to be paying off as they continue to make charts in Africa’s entertainment awards. This year’s Magic Vibe Awards announced the nominations with more than six Rwandans in different entertainment sectors.

Slated for September 4, the event is committed to writing the East African Music Story on the world map and to be celebrating the Vibe feats that African music artists have achieved in the past year.

The first edition of Magic Vibe Award is set to take place at The Globe- News Center performing Arts in Amarillo, Texas at 6:30 pm.

Here are the Rwandans nominated:

Best East African New Artiste

Rwanda’s hit maker Platini also known as Baba is nominated in this category alongside Tanzania’s Mario, Ibrah, Smile The Genius, Rapcha, Uganda’s An-Known and Iyanii from Kenyan.

Best East African Female RnB/Pop Artiste

Rwanda’s female artistes Knowles Butera and duo Charly and Nina are nominated in this category alongside other East African artistes like Zuchu from Tanzania, Tanasha Donna from Kenya, Rema Nakamula from Uganda and Nandy among others.

Best East African Male RnB/Pop Artiste

In this category three Rwandan male artistes were nominated and it’s undeniable how deserving it is. Meddy, The Ben and Bruce Melodie are competing for the best East African Male Artiste against Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz, Otile Brown from Kenya and Ugandan Eddy Kenzo among others.

Best East African TV/Radio Personality

Ally Soudy, a Rwandan based in the United States of America is nominated in this category with four Tanzanians B Dozen, Millard Ayo, Lil Ommy, Aaliyah Mohamed, Meena Ally and Willy Tuva from Uganda. Ally Soudy airs live on Instagram in his show ‘Ally Soudy On Air’ by inviting different Rwandan celebrities to talk about Rwanda’s entertainment industry.

Best East Africa TV Series of the year

Rwanda’s Tv series ‘Waz You’ is nominated in this category alongside other Tv series like ‘Crime and Justice’, ‘ Kombolela’, ‘Kina’,’ Pete’, ‘Huba’, ‘Jua Kali’, ‘Best Friend’ and ‘ Mama Kimbo’. This Rwandan series was written by Yves Mizero.

Video of the Year

The video of the year nominees includes The Ben’s ‘Why’ featuring Diamond Platnumz, competing with Diamonds singles ‘Oka’, ‘ Wonder’, ‘ Women’ by Otile Brown ft Harmonize and ‘ Dunia’ by Harmonize from Tanzania.

Best Actress of the Year

The film industry in Rwanda has been working tirelessly to give film lovers the best time and it is rewarding that they are now being recognised not just in Rwanda but in the East African region. Actresses Laura Musanase commonly known as Nikuze in City Maid series and Malaika Uwamahoro were nominated in this category. Other nominees include Mimi Mars, Anne Kansime and Helen Lukoma among others.

Best Gospel/Inspirational Artiste

Rwanda’s renowned gospel artiste Gabby Kamanzi is nominated in this category with Tanzania’s Rose Muhando, Christian Shusho, Goodluck Gozbert, Uganda’s Judith Babirye and Kenya’s Alice Kimazi, Mercy Masika.

Best Collaboration of the Year

In this category both The Ben and Bruce Melodie were nominated for their amazing collabos they did with other East African artistes. ‘Nyoola’ by Bruce Melodie ft Eddy Kenzo, ‘Why’ by The Ben ft Diamond Platnumz, ‘Jealous’ by Ali Kiba ft Mayorkun, ‘Woman’ by Otile Brown ft Harmonize, ‘Naogopa’ by Mario ft Harmonize and ‘Mtasubiri’ by Diamond Platnumz ft Zuchu.
