PODCAST: RPF-Inkotanyi’s difficult beginning – Part 1
Monday, April 17, 2023

In lure of last week’s episode of The Long Form that discussed the future of RPF and what succeeding chairman Paul Kagame will look like, this week’s episode of the podcast delves into the history of the ruling party, formerly RANU, as told by veteran politician Protais Musoni.

Musoni recalls fleeing Rwanda to Uganda, in 1961, with his family as a seven-year-old boy, and the constant discrimination Rwandan refugees faced in exile.

Further on in the conversation, Musoni looks back at the early days of RANU (Rwanda Alliance for National Unity) whose congresses would convene in the homes of members with just about 50 people in attendance.
