Gorilla FC 4-1 Etincelles

Rwamagana City FC 1-2 Musanze FC

The race for Rwanda Premier League title is now becoming a two-horse race with APR and SC Kiyovu only separated by goal difference at the top the table.

Ben Moussa’s APR slipped in Bugesera on Saturday after they were held to a goalless draw by Gasogi United while Kiyovu collected all three points after Erisa Ssekisambu’s 67th minute strike handed the Mumena-based side a hard-fought 1-0 victory over AS Kigali at Muhanga Stadium.

Pressure now mounts on APR who are now tied with Kiyovu on 53 points but the military side stay at the top of the table with a 22-goal difference against Kiyovu’s 14.

Any single slip up would cost them the title with the Green Baggies not ready to throw away the title to their rivals with like they did last season.

In other matches, Musanze FC travelled in Ngoma to beat Rwamagana City 2-1 while Gorilla FC thrashed Etincelles FC 4-1 in a lunch-time league encounter held at Bugesera Stadium.

The league action continues on Sunday where Rayon Sports have the chance to close the game when they visit Bugesera while Espoir FC, who have their days in the Premier League numbered, will take on Sunrise FC in a make or break tie that will take place in Rusizi.

Mukura VS host a Marines FC who are fighting to avoid relegation while Rutsiro FC will also be looking to avoid a defeat against Police FC to avoid dropping into the relegation zone.
