A grenade blast in Muhanga town, Southern Province, yesterday evening, injured 10 people, two of them critically.

The incident occurred at a busy junction in Gitarama Cell, Nyamabuye Sector.

"Two people have been transferred to Kigali Central Teaching Hospital (CHUK), while the rest are admitted at Kabgayi Hospital (in Muhanga)," Police spokesperson, Theos Badege said.

According  to Police, two suspects have already been arrested. "We’re still carrying out investigations,” Badege said, adding that it was not yet clear whether the blast was deliberate.
