Sibomana named in Kiyovu squad

SC Kiyovu have included Hussein Sibomana in their Confederation Cup squad. The defensive midfielder went AWOL late last year but according to reports from the club, he has escaped punishment.

SC Kiyovu have included Hussein Sibomana in their Confederation Cup squad.

The defensive midfielder went AWOL late last year but according to reports from the club, he has escaped punishment.

Other notable names in the side include former Atraco trio of Jean Shyaka, Djabir Mutarambirwa and Godfrey Katerega. The club has also bolstered the side with Simon Okwi, Dyaldot Kalisa and the veteran goalkeeper Mohamed Nahimana Mossi who was part of the Amavubi squad which qualified and played at the 2004 Africa Nations Cup in Tunisia.

The green baggies are scheduled to play DRC’s Chinkuku as a build-up to their Confederation Cup preliminary round tie against Simba.

The Chinkuku game is set for next weekend in Kigali.

The winner between Kiyovu and Simba will meet Algeria’s ES Setif in the round of 16.
