Atraco Fc and Amavubi Stars striker Abedi Mulenda could make a sensational return to his former club Rayon Sports, Times Sport can reveal.

In an exclusive and rare interview with Times Sport last week, the skillful forward is keen on a return to his former club were he commanded a cult status .

His two-year contract runs out at the end of this month with the public transporters and the 28-year old is relishing a return to Rayon.

"I have not yet decided on what to do but I think if they want me to go back, I will definitely go,” Mulenda admitted.

Reports from the Rugunga based side reveal that Mulenda has even asked for a pardon from the club administrators after he left the blues for Atraco in a money spinning as a free agent at the start of 2005/6 season.

Mulenda’s return to Rayon may be attributed to the lack of first turn football at Atraco.

If the striker’s wish is granted, it will be a major boost for the blues ahead of their continental engagements.

Reacting to the possibility of the striker returning, Rayon president, Paul Muvunyi could not deny nor agree but only said Mulenda’s return will depend on the outcome of the club’s executive committee meeting this week.

"Mulenda wants to comeback but this will be possible if the whole committee decides so,” he noted.

Before adding that,

"He is a good player who would also help us in our preparations for next season’s league title chase as well as the Confederation Cup championship.”

Mulenda transferred to Atraco from the blues for an undisclosed fee.

But going by his standards, he has had a poor season at the taxi-men.

A goal drought has seen him dropped from the national team .  Ends
