Rwandan hospitality students will be undertaking their internship in Kenya as a way of exposing them to some of the best practices of the industry. The Private Sector Foundation (PSF), in partnership with Rwanda Tourism University College (RTUC), has initiated the progamme to help upgrade local skills in the industry.

The Private Sector Foundation (PSF), in partnership with Rwanda Tourism University College (RTUC), has initiated the progamme to help upgrade local skills in the industry.
The first batch of 29 students will be leaving for Kenya, this week. Another group of 50 is expected to travel next month.
Speaking to The New Times, PSF Chairman, Faustin Mbundu, talked of the need to advance skills in the hospitality sector through technical and generic skills. He urged the students to offer good customer care wherever they will be placed.
"You should maximize this opportunity and learn, give quality services to your customers once out there. If you don’t let us down, we shall be motivated to carry on with this programme,” he said, urging them to be the country’s ambassadors while in Kenya.
The Rector of RTUC, Callixte Kabera, said: "We want to benchmark our programmes to regional and international standards to ensure quality and conformity”.
Daniel Komezusenge, one of the beneficiaries of the programme, said he was excited about practicing in Kenya saying he hoped to learn a lot from the East African nation.
