Man confesses to beheading brother

KAMONYI – Police in Kamonyi District have arrested a man for allegedly beheading his brother over family property wrangles.  Philemon Niyitanga, 40, confessed to killing his young brother, Fanuel Niyomfasha, on December 28.

KAMONYI – Police in Kamonyi District have arrested a man for allegedly beheading his brother over family property wrangles. 

Philemon Niyitanga, 40, confessed to killing his young brother, Fanuel Niyomfasha, on December 28.  

The confession comes after four suspects were arrested in Ngamba Sector, where authorities recovered the deceased’s head from a toilet. 

"It is true I murdered my brother and hid his head with the help of others. I am sorry for my actions,” Niyitanga said.

Police spokesman Supt. Theos Badege, said the head was recovered on January 8 following investigations into the murder.
