Editor,Efforts by Rwanda Development Board to ease doing business in the country are a sign of the Government’s determination to realize Vision 2020.One of the sectors that have shown strong growth in recent years is tourism. The government must have recognised the enormous potential of the sector, thus making it a priority. It is particularly exciting to see the RDB-Tourism and Conservation lead the way with new travel and tourism development and investment projects ranging from the Congo trail, hotels and resorts like the soon to be inaugurated Marriott Hotel and Kigali Convention Centre, to cultural attractions like the ongoing refurbishment and expansion of museums and conservation of forests. But perhaps more importantly, this new investment creates opportunities for long-term employment. Those in the tourism business should also target tourists from new markets like India, Korea, China, Malaysia, Indonesia and Australia.Ends
