Editor,Allow me through you newspaper to commend Rwanda’s health care system that I have found very accommodative and targeting all ordinary citizens.Rwanda has managed to roll-out a universal health care system –Mutuelle de Santé - that benefits the poor and unemployed. This is in addition to the Rwanda Social Security Board (RAMA) medical insurance scheme that benefits civil servants and other employees. In other countries, healthcare systems are tailor-made to benefit the rich leaving the poor in the cold.I suppose the biggest challenge for the region is to design policies and programmes targeting ordinary citizens who cannot afford their medical bills.Ends
