Rayon Sports vs Police FC (Amahoro)

WITHOUT their midfield maestro Jean Baptist Mugiraneza a.k.a Migi, APR face a daunting task against La Jeunesse this afternoon at Mumena stadium.

The defending league champions are without three key players in Migi (ankle injury), Didier Logba (knee injury) and new signing Alex de Avila Peixoto (leg injury) but Ernie Brandts insists there is enough fire power in the team to get all three points.

"We have three key players out but that should not stop us from winning this weekend. We have prepared well and should be in position to win the match,” a confident Brandts said.

La Jeunesse coach Emmanuel Ruremesha, yesterday, said he was prepared to give his top striker Ildebrand Nshuti every chance of playing this afternoon. The hit-man has been down with Malaria and was a doubt for the fixture by press time.

With 18 points, APR are in second place; two points adrift of table leaders Mukura, who take on Espoir at Kamena stadium. La Jeunesse, who stunned Rayon Sport 2-1, are eighth with 10 points.

In other fixtures, AS Kigali host Etincelles at Kigali Regional Stadium, Nyanza take on Amagaju in Nyamagabe while Marines hosts SC Kiyovu at Umuganda stadium.

On Sunday, a thrilling contest is on the cards when the blues entertain Police at Amahoro stadium. Meddie Kagere who has been linked with a move to Ethiopia’s St. George is expected to feature for Police FC.
