Editor,

Senior Chinese government official Li Yuanchao’s visit to Rwanda, this week, illustrates the country’s strong ties with the Chinese government. This is a result of the good leadership exhibited by President Paul Kagame, his government and the Rwandan people.

Remarks by Li Yuanchao concerning the direction the country is taking are an indication that Rwanda is a key partner in the community of nations.

The country has transformed both politically and economically which is why we are able to attract many important friends like China, a country that has become a catalyst to the development drive in the rest of the developing world. I am thus optimistic this valuable partnership will positively impact on the lives of many Rwandans.
