In a bid to boost the already existing bilateral relations between India and Rwanda, the Rwandan High Commissioner in India, Williams Nkurunziza, Tuesday launched two honorary consulates in Mumbai and Bangalore at a ceremony held at the Rwandan High Commission in New Delhi.
In a bid to boost the already existing bilateral relations between India and Rwanda, the Rwandan High Commissioner in India, Williams Nkurunziza, Tuesday launched two honorary consulates in Mumbai and Bangalore at a ceremony held at the Rwandan High Commission in New Delhi.
During the event, Nkurunziza handed over "administrative instruments,” including the national flag, other national policy documents to Prakash Jain and Mohan Suresh, Honorary Consuls of Rwanda in Maharashtra (Mumbai) and Karnataka (Bangalore) states, respectively.
Nkurunziza thanked the consuls for their declared commitment to enhance Indo-Rwanda bilateral cooperation. He assured them of collaboration and facilitation in bringing relations between the two countries to greater heights.
A statement from the Rwandan High Commission says the honorary consuls expressed full commitment to serve the government and people of Rwanda in close collaboration with the High Commission.
Prakash is the chairman of Inspira, a leading IT, biometric product and renewable energy company based in Mumbai.
He reportedly has vast experience accumulated over three decades in international business with operations outside India in countries like Singapore and the USA.
"I am delighted and honored to represent Rwanda in Maharashtra with a base in Mumbai. Rwanda is a fast growing economy and has a central location to be an IT Hub in the region and I will hope I can make a contribution to this vision, no matter how modest,” Prakash is quoted saying.
On the other hand, Suresh, a former president of the Federation of Indian Small and Medium Enterprises (FISME), is currently an advisor to the Indian Government on SME development.
As the Managing Director of Techno Spark Industries, one of India’s industrial granite manufacturers, based in Bangalore, Suresh is also a seasoned businessman and intends to use his SME experience and network to contribute to Rwanda’s industrial development.
"I am very happy for this honor to contribute to the enhancement of Indo-Rwanda bilateral ties and hope to make a little contribution in mobilising investments to Rwanda, as well as promoting transfer of appropriate Indian SME technologies.” Suresh said
