Examination  results for Ordinary Level and Primary Leaving Examinations (PLE) will be released before the end of this month to ensure that all students report to school during the first week of February.

This was confirmed by the State Minister in charge of Primary and Secondary Education, Dr Mathias Harebamungu, yesterday in a phone interview yesterday.

"I cannot confirm right now the exact date when the results for both examinations will be released, but I want to assure parents and students concerned that they should be ready for school at the beginning of February,” said the minister.

The students concerned are those who completed their primary school education and who would soon be joining secondary school as well as those who completed the Senior Three grade commonly known as O Level.

The rest of the students who are in varying grades reported back to their respective schools this weekend with lessons kicking off yesterday.

He revealed that teachers had already finished marking examination papers before embarking on a ‘cleaning’ up process to ascertain there were no flaws in the exercise.

According to Harebamungu, a total of 167,000 pupils sat for their PLE exams last year whereas over 79,000 candidates sat for their Ordinary level examinations.

He said examiners are about to complete the data entry of examinations results, saying that what is remaining is to make a final copy of the results.
