Tusker Project Fame Season three (TPF3) winner, Alpha Rwirangira has, moved to the United States to pursue a musical career at Campbellsville University, also known as CU, a private university in Campbellsville, Kentucky.

Alpha left the country to the US recently, and enrolled in the Bachelor of Music (B.M.), a four-year’s degree course.

The "Songa mbele” star hopes to make his music dream a reality after graduating from Campbellsville University.

"As a child, I had always wished to start a school that would produce professional music producers, managers and musicians,” Alpha said.

Alpha promised to continue releasing new songs and return in the country at the end of the year, to host his annual concert "Alpha band with families”, which was inaugurated on Dec. 25, 2011.

Born in 1986 in Mwanza, Tanzania, to a Rwandan father and a Tanzanian mother, Alpha Rwirangira is a singer-songwriter and musician, who rose to fame in late 2009, after winning the much coveted Tusker Project Fame Season 3 in Nairobi, Kenya.

The annual Reality TV show unearths the region’s most outstanding musical talent, and in 2009, contestants from four countries, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Rwanda were put in an academy and their vocal prowess was tried to the very limit.

His work often explores freedom, religion, isolation and interpersonal relationships.

With his husky voice, Alpha emerged the winner at the season finale, after proving to East Africans that his talent is unmatched.

A year on, Alpha released his debut album "One Africa”, a title track calling for unity and reconciliation among Africans.

The album was in October 2010, launched in five East African countries, namely Rwanda, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Burundi. The album was just the beginning of Alpha’s musical journey.

Alpha is also the co-winner of Tusker Project Fame All Stars, alongside Uganda’s Davis Ntare and Peter Msechu from Tanzania.
