Government’s plan to establish more rehabilitation centres for drug addicts is timely. One of the most important things in addiction treatment and recovery is drug rehab programmes. Drug rehabs provide safe, controlled environments away from daily trials and temptations.

Drug rehabs also provide highly trained addiction specialists who monitor withdrawal symptoms and also provide much needed counselling and support.  With this level of care, one can be assured of a safe withdrawal process.

So far, Iwawa Rehabibilitation and Vocational Training centre located at Iwawa Island has done a brilliant job. Former street children that have graduated who have rejoin society after acquiring skills in carpentry or tailoring are now better citizens.

If we are to have a better country, we need to help our children.
