THE battle for next year’s lone Orange Confederation Cup slot kicks off this afternoon with a clash between Stella Maris and Interforce.

It is the opening game of the 2012 Peace Cup. On paper, Interforce are slight favourites after a run of three wins and two defeats that leaves them fifth in Group A of the second division.  Stella Maris who was held to a 1-all draw in their last game against Unity FC is in ninth place.

Some of the other games on cards tomorrow include a clash between defending champion APR and Isonga FC at Kigali Regional Stadium; Police host Espoir at Kamena while Rayon Sport play away to Musanze in Rubavu. SC Kiyovu entertains Intare.

Out of 32 teams, 16 will progress to the second round.

Last year, APR lifted their sixth Peace Cup title after beating Police 4-2 in the final.
