THE National Sulfo cricket league has been penciled in to start in July according to the Secretary General of the Rwanda cricket Association, Emmanuel Byiringiro.

Right Guards, who won last year’s trophy will expect stiff competition from rivals Impala titans, Indorwa, KCC and a host of other clubs.

Byiringiro told Times Sports that the club’s annual AGM will take place end of this month where they will set dates for the league start as well as for other tournaments that include Computer point tournament, Robotics T-20, a girls’ tournament and the post-primary schools cricket tournament.

"The federation’s annual assembly will meet at the end of this month to among other things approve competitions to be played this year and set dates for them. The league will most likely start in July,” said the veteran cricketer turned International umpire.

Meanwhile, the federation’s plans for a new state of the art cricket facility are in high gear with the scheduled arrival of the Rwanda Cricket stadium foundation president Oli Broom this evening, who will among other things look at possible sites of where the stadium will be built.
