APR draw youthful Isonga FC in Peace Cup

Defending champions APR have been drawn against newly formed Isonga Fc in the preliminary round of this year’s Peace Cup competition, which gets underway this weekend. Defending champions APR have been drawn against newly formed Isonga Fc in the preliminary round of this year’s Peace Cup competition, which gets underway this weekend.

During yesterday’s draw held at Ferwafa headquarters in Remera, Rayon Sports were drawn to face Musanze, Kiyovu will play away to second division side Intare FC, while Police face Espoir.

APR is placed third on the Primus league standings with15 points in eight matches, while their opponents Isonga Fc have one point in three matches.

A total of 32 clubs will feature in this competition with sixteen to make it into the 1/8th round set to be played on February 1, 2012.

APR, six-time winners won last year’s event after beating Police 4-2, a week after they had claimed the Primus National Football League (PNFL).

Being Peace Cup and Primus National Football League (PNFL) defending champions, APR FC will represent Rwanda in the Orange CAF Champions League while Kiyovu Sports, who finished second in PNFL, competes in the Orange CAF.
