Defender Ange Mutsinzi put up a superb performance for his new club FK Jerv despite losing 2-1 at home to Ranheim in their opening encounter of the 2023 Norwegian Tippeligaen on Monday, April 10.

The Rwanda international, who joined the Norwegian second tier club as a free agent on February 7, 2023, was deployed on the right side of defense in a back three alongside Erik Sandberg and Lucas Larade as the club played a 3-5-2 formation.

The former APR and Rayon Sports centre back was very efficient at the back as his side was a no go area for the Ranheim attack led by Bendik Bye, Kristoffer Gunnes and Sivert Solli.

He defended gallantly and made some good clearances whereas he popped up and joined the attack when needed with surging runs down the flanks.

Sivert netted a brace for Ranheim while substitute Samuel Pedro reduced the deficit for Jerv who lost their opening league game before their home supporters.
