Trail blazing the business of higher education

At a time when most business persons thought that education is an investment domain for the public sector, Zulfat Mukarubega  sought to differentiate herself by starting a tourism college that went on to train thousands of Rwandans who will take up various positions in the country’s fledgling tourism industry.

By last year, Rwanda Tourism University College had announced a major expansion programme as it seeks to take up leadership position of training the next generation of middle level managers of the sector. The move cannot come at a better time considering Rwanda’s growing reputation as a major tourist destination and the ever-growing need for quality customer service.
