Group A

Muhanga 4-0  Kirehe
Intare  2-0 Esperance
Bugesera 3-1 Stella Maris
Unity  1-2  Zebres
Gasabo United 2-1  Aspor

Group B

Musanze  0-1 Etoile de l'Est
Pépinières  1-0  Sorwathe
Interforce  1-0 United Stars

Muhanga and Musanze lead the way in Group A and B as they both bid to return to the Primus National Football League.

Muhanga top Group A with 11 points, a point above Gasabo United after winning three and drawing two of their five matches played so far.

Meanwhile, Musanze suffered their first defeat of the season on Wednesday after a 1-0 loss to Etoile de l’Est but still tops Group B with 9 points but only goal difference. They’re level with Rwamgana City, Interforce and Pépinières.

A total of 19 clubs is taking part in the league. They include (Group A) Muhanga, Kirehe, Intare, Esperance, Busegera, Stella Maris, Unity, Zebres, Gasabo and Aspor, while Group B has Musanze, Etoile de l’Est, Pépinières, Sorwathe, Interforce and United Stars.

On the down side, the league which has failed to attract a sponsor is breaking off until January 4th.

The top four teams from both groups qualify for playoffs, where the winners atomically qualify to play in the top flight division.

Last year, Nyanza and Espoir were promoted to the top tier division after dispersing Sec Academy and Kibuye respectively in the playoffs.

Despite the top division having a sponsor for the last three years, the second division league has been struggling to attract funders something that has led to like Kibuye not to participate in the 2011/12 season.
