APR’s midfielder Didier Logba has been ruled out of action for the rest of the season after undergoing a successful knee surgery on Sunday at King Faycal Hospital in Kigali, his club has confirmed.

The Cote d’Ivoire-born player damaged his knee during APR’s 5-0 rout over a select Team of Professional Players (TPP) in a friendly match played at Amahoro stadium on Saturday.

APR head coach Ernie Brandts told Times Sport yesterday, "Logba had an operation on Sunday and we are going to miss his services in this season.”

"We are paying him a visit at King Faycal hospital today (yesterday) to support and encourage him in this trying moment,” added the Dutch man, who featured for Holland in the 1978 Fifa World Cup.

Logba has been a key figure for the military side for the past two seasons. With his absence, APR will need reinforcement ahead of next year’s Orange Champions League fixture against Kenya’s Tusker Fc.

He will miss the whole season of Primus National Football league, Orange Champions league and Peace Cup matches.
