Editor,

I read in The NewTimes yesterday that 593 former street children had graduated from Iwawa Rehabilitation and Development Skills Centre. These children are joining many others who graduated earlier in the year.

After graduating, we hope they turn into better citizens and contribute to development of their country. Youth are the leaders of tomorrow and the skills in carpentry, commercial farming and bee keeping they learnt from the centre will, indeed, shape their future.

The management of the centre ought to be recommended for a job well done. Convincing former street children to denounce their former lifestyles for more productive activities can at times be a challenge.
