The mission in Haiti serves as a protection force for the UN staffs, crowd control and help in aid distribution in internally displaced camps.
Fazil Musa Harelimana Thursday briefed the group at the force’s headquarters in Kacyiru, which is scheduled to depart next week.
Harelimana appealed to the officers to promote Rwanda’s core values and observe honesty and discipline during their mission.
"You are carrying the flag and are ambassadors of the country,” Harelimana said.
The Inspector General of Police, Emmanuel Gasana, urged them to observe professionalism, love and portray the true image of their country.
Among the officers set to be replaced in Haiti, is AIP Alphonse Rutayisire, who was recently awarded with a certificate of excellence by the United Nations for a successful operation conducted in Port-au-Prince under his command on December 1.
Rutayisire, together with Haiti police and legal department, successfully arrested a man who was wanted for murder charges in Haiti.
Currently, there are 416 police officers on mission in Sudan, Liberia, Ivory Coast and Haiti.
