The improvement is partly due to the recent performances in the just concluded CECAFA Challenge Tusker Cup held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, where Amavubi played six matches unbeaten and won five.
Amavubi went on to lose 2-3 on penalties after 2-all draw after 120 minutes of play to ensure a 12th CECAFA title for the Uganda Cranes.
The country is also ranked 27th in Africa, the second highest ranked team in CECAFA behind Uganda who moved up two places to 89th position.
Micho said, "The improvement is due to hardwork. I must thank the players, Ferwafa, Ministry of sports and media who have been behind us.”
"We have good foundation and we want to improve and become even much better. Our aim is to break into top 20 in Africa and top 80 in world football,” added Micho.
Neighbours Kenya was the highest climber in Africa after jumping13 places to 120 and fourth in CECAFA behind Sudan who dropped one place to 113.
Nigeria, opponents in the preliminary round of 2013 Africa Nations Cup Qualifiers, remained on 43rd position in the world and 5th in Africa.
