Arthur Christmas reveals the incredible, never-before seen answer to every child’s question: ‘So how does Santa deliver all those presents in one night?’ The answer: Santa’s exhilarating, ultra-high-tech operation hidden beneath the North Pole.

But at the center of the film is a story about a family in a state of comic dysfunction and an unlikely hero, Arthur, with an urgent mission that must be completed before Christmas morning dawns. Santa (Jim Broadbent) has an ultra-high-tech operation hidden beneath the North Pole in order to deliver billions of presents in one night, and this year he’s giving his son, Arthur (James McAvoy), a special mission that must be completed before Christmas morning. The movie’s title used to be Operation: Rudolph, so that might be a clue. This piece comes from UK animator Aardman, whose last feature was Flushed Away.

Lead voice actor McAvoy isn’t too interesting or funny on the microphone, but hopefully this will have the imagination of Aardman’s acclaimed features Chicken Run and Wallace and Gromit.
