Christmas Movies:Christmas isn’t too commercial; it’s simply being merry!

I don’t understand what is up with people sometimes. I mean when you try to be economical, they say you are mean and when you lose it and celebrate the way you see fit, they say you are showing off! I am not saying people should spend their entire life’s savings during the holidays but it is okay to pamper yourself once in a while.

I don’t understand what is up with people sometimes. I mean when you try to be economical, they say you are mean and when you lose it and celebrate the way you see fit, they say you are showing off! I am not saying people should spend their entire life’s savings during the holidays but it is okay to pamper yourself once in a while.

I mean where’s the harm in upgrading from regular old boring TV to cable TV? If you had saved money in order to watch all those exhilarating programs aired during the holiday then why not go through with it? Some people call that doing too much. Why should I be subjected to TV Rwanda alone (no offense) when I can have movie magic, the crime and investigation channel, cartoon network and all that?

What is so wrong with buying an airline ticket to a destination you have always wanted to visit? I don’t care if it is the Bahamas, Sun City or Disney world. It’s not like we get to do that every day, now is it?

The funny thing about overspending is that the ones who complain most about it never bother to return the expensive gifts they get. If there is anyone to blame it should be the vendors who hike the prices all in the name of holidays. They are smart too. They know that people are in a ‘full of beans’ mood and will just buy whatever comes their way because it doesn’t happen everyday. All people do is buy the goods. The way I see it, they are helping their economy and by doing that being responsible citizens so what’s the fuss?

Sure, most people argue that spending too much leaves a person financially handicapped after. So here’s the thing. First of all, it is no body’s business how much so and so spends. Second, seeing as Christmas comes every year, being broke is an ordeal they have faced so they will get passed it. Third, if it is not your money they are spending then why make it look as if it is?

Seriously, if people do not spend money then who or what will? My only problem is the ones who spend money on other people’s accounts. I mean the ones who spend their entire salary then go running to relatives and friends to bail them out when reality checks in. If you do not have money, do not try spending it. In other words, know your limits.

If you run bankrupt at the start of the New Year, have a way out that doesn’t involve traumatizing other people’s bank accounts or wallets for that matter. But for those who have it easy, I say… it’s Christmas! Pray, laugh, eat, drink (I do not mean things that will harm your body), love, dance and just be merry with the depth of your pocket taken into serious consideration.

This is life. We are meant to enjoy it. You have to live in the moment to enjoy life. God forbid but you never know if tomorrow will come so enjoy it while and if you can. Life is best lived when you do stuff that you want to do not what is expected of you.
