Karongi to organize Beach Volleyball against HIV

The Beach Volleyball Friends Forum and Karongi District are set to organize a one-day tournament whose aim is to fighting against HIV Aids. The competition will take place in Karongi District on December 24. The winner of the competition will get a trophy and Rwf80, 000, while the first runner up will take home Rwf60, 000.

The Beach Volleyball Friends Forum and Karongi District are set to organize a one-day tournament whose aim is to fighting against HIV Aids.

The competition will take place in Karongi District on December 24. The winner of the competition will get a trophy and Rwf80, 000, while the first runner up will take home Rwf60, 000.

The beach volleyball was first played in the country in 2009; Thierry Mugabo and Emmanuel Gasana won the inaugural competition after beating Serge Girimbabazi and Jean Paul Hakizimana.

The tournament will be sponsored by Karongi District and the purpose of the competition is to fight against HIV Aids among the youth.

The tournament will attract over 20 local players, they include Kwizera Pierre Marshal, Mbonyewontuma Jean Luc Kizungu, Mutesi Leon Fidel, Ndamukunda  Flavio, Nkuranga Alexis, Mugabo Thierry, Nyagahene JMV, Giraneza Isaac, Mbaraga Alex, Karera Emile Dada, Gasana Emmanuel, Girimbabazi Serge, Dushimina Rene, Hakizimana  J. Paul, Bagoroziki Mathias, Banamwana Patrick among others.
