NORTHERN PROVINCE

Musanze—All district executive secretaries in Northern Province have been tasked to carry out an assessment on the effective allocation Genocide survivors’ funds.

Fresh registration of students who survived the genocide are expected to carried out in all district by the executive secretaries.

Beneficiaries are expected to get new Mutuelle de Sante cards.

Claims have been cropping up in the recent past about the misuse of FARG funds.

Some schools were reported to be registering ghost students so as to embezzle the funds.

Addressing local leaders, programme director of FARG Jean Marie Rwagatare, requested authorities to ensure that no survivor-student is not left out during the new registration.

He said that schools with a record of good performance shall be given more students sponsored by FARG and that the amount of money to be spent shall depend on the condition of the school.
