Emile Mukunzi, the youth leader in the district, said that despite the fact that most of them were still students, they managed to mobilise some funds and equipment to help the needy the needy.

Emile Mukunzi, the youth leader in the district, said that despite the fact that most of them were still students, they managed to mobilise some funds and equipment to help the needy the needy.
He was closing civic education training for 900 students, in the district on Wednesday.
"The attitude of the youth has changed...we have started building some houses and they are almost complete. We also mobilised funds and bought goats for widows. Our role in socio-economic development must be felt,” Mukunzi, said.
Epimaque Karimaga, a student, said that the youth were committed to developing cooperatives in the district.
"We have programmes to conserve the environment, improve good governance and promote the Rwandan culture. Cooperatives are already in place to help us work as a team,” he said.
Promising district’s support to youth activities, Mayor Protais Murayire, noted that discipline among the youth was important in shaping their future.
"I was astonished by the contribution of these young people,” he said.
The mayor cautioned the youth against promiscuity, drug abuse and genocide ideology.
"Forget the old generation’s attitude that led this country to Genocide,” the mayor advised.
