Editor,

I wish to comment on a story published in yesterday’s issue of The New Times titled "Citizens upbeat over Imihigo.”

I am not surprised that a recent survey conducted by the civil society platform showed that Rwandans’  are content with performance contracts.

Performance contracts (Imihigo) help instill a culture of accountability and transparency among government officials.

In Africa, so many people are disappointed because politicians promise to deliver services to the electorate but without doing so.

I am certain if other countries borrowed the Imihigo strategy, leaders would easily be held accountable.
