Bralirwa’s Board of Directors has announced Jonathan Hall as the brewer’s new managing director. Jonathan replaces Sven-Erik Piederiet, who resigned recently after serving as Managing Director and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Hall, 59, holds a Masters Degree in Modern History and a MSc in Ag Economics from Oxford University in the UK. Bralirwa, Rwanda’s leading brewer, is a subsidiary of Heineken International.
Jean-Paul van Hollebeke, the chairman of the Board, noted that Piederiet has made significant improvement in Bralirwa’s performance and substantially increasing shareholder value.
"Sven has played a key role in converting Bralirwa Ltd into a modern, dynamic, consumer-oriented, high-performing company, listed on the Rwanda Stock Exchange, with a solid strategy to continue its growth and value creation,” he said in a statement.
Hollebeke added that Bralirwa Ltd performance has significantly improved in all areas and key metrics, relationships with external stakeholders established while maintaining its leading market position.
"We are confident that he will bring the best of his experience and motivation,” he said
Jonathan was Managing Director of the Heineken subsidiary Windward and Leeward Brewery in St. Lucia with prior appointments at senior managerial level in the Asia Pacific and Western Europe regions.
Freddy Nyangezi, Bralirwa’s Corporate Affairs Manager said that Piederiet is leaving Heineken group to join his home-based processing firm SalenteinArgentina, based in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
