Rwanda has been selected to host the African Disability Trust Fund following a recent visit by a delegation
from the Secretariat of the Africa Decade of Persons with Disabilities (SADPD).

According to the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, Protais Musoni, the decision, that was approved by Cabinet
this week, was a result of the remarkable care people living with disabilities in the country receive.

"During the visit, SADPD was impressed with the way we cater for people living with disabilities,” Musoni
said yesterday in an interview with The New Times. He added that a mechanism of setting up the fund and how
it will work is being worked out.

The same cabinet meeting also approved a Prime Minister’s orders determining the organizational structure
and summery of job positions for the National Council of Persons with Disabilities (NCPD).
