Editor,

In The New Times yesterday, the government urged the Rwandan community in Europe to be more vigilante following an attempt by unknown assailants to set ablaze the Rwandan embassy in Paris, France.

According to article 22 of the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, receiving States are responsible for protecting the premises of diplomatic missions against any intrusion or damage.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the attack. I would not only like to commend the government for taking swift action, but call on the host government to investigate and bring to book the suspects of the attack.
