Over 500 graduate at SFB

550 students, among them 218 females, yesterday graduated from the Mburabuturo-based School of Finance and Banking (SFB), an increase from 513 the previous year.  The institution also awarded Masters Degrees in Business Administration (MBA) to 48 students. The school, holding its sixth graduation ceremony, awarded Bachelor’s Degrees in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing and MBA’s in Project Management, Banking and Finance.

550 students, among them 218 females, yesterday graduated from the Mburabuturo-based School of Finance and Banking (SFB), an increase from 513 the previous year.  The institution also awarded Masters Degrees in
Business Administration (MBA) to 48 students.

The school, holding its sixth graduation ceremony, awarded Bachelor’s Degrees in Business Administration,
Accounting, Finance, Human Resource Management, Marketing and MBA’s in Project Management, Banking and
Finance.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Rector of SFB,  Dr. Reid E. Whitlock, called upon students to be productive
having obtained quality education during their time at the university.

"This is a celebration of your accomplishments and it closes a very important chapter in your lives, and
whatever you will do, I believe each of you will be successful in life,” he told the graduates.

Speaking on behalf of the graduates in Business Administration, Diana Mukundwa said that it had been an
amazing journey.

"We will never forget what we learnt in class and we look forward to contributing to the development of our
country,” she promised.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Vincent Biruta, congratulated the students for accomplishing their goal.

"I believe you have gained knowledge and skills that will enable you to be our potential leaders of
tomorrow,” Biruta said, reiterating the government’s support for education.

Tony O. Elumelu, the Chairman of Heirs Holdings Limited, an African investment company based in Nigeria,
urged the new graduates to look to the future instead of the past.

"Do your best in everything you do. Go forth and conquer, don’t fear that you will not get jobs, I believe
the knowledge and skills you have been equipped with will enable you to succeed in life,” he told students.

The best performing graduates were given laptops, cash prizes, Sulfo Rwanda products while others were
given internship opportunities in the Ministry Of Finance and Economic Planning.
