Eight countries have confirmed participation in the annual trade exhibition in Rubavu District which officially kicks off this Saturday.

Exhibiters from regional countries like Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and DRC have already arrived while Egypt and Pakistan are setting up their stands to showcase their products.

In total, 194 companies expected to occupy 224 stands, both local and international, will take part in the ten-day exhibition.

"We were overwhelmed by the international presence...it is the largest we have registered in provincial exhibitions,” said Nasta Munara, from Tower Link Events, the chief organizers.

Provincial exhibitions are an initiative of the Private Sector Federation (PSF) to promote and represent the interests of the Rwandan business community.

Munara said that of all the provinces which have been covered, the Western Province is the most successful going by the sensitization campaign.

"We expect a very high turnout from residents witnessed by the number of tickets which have already been bought,” Munara added.

PSF’s initiative of mini-expos is meant to give local companies and cooperatives opportunities to showcase their work, network with foreign exhibitors as they share experience.
