The Nigerian government will soon open a Bureau of Consular Affairs in Kigali to facilitate the increasing trade relations between the two countries.

This was revealed by Rwanda’s High Commissioner to Nigeria, Joseph Habineza

"Recently I met the Permanent Secretary in the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs who told me that they are going to launch a consular office in Kigali that will handle visa applications,” he said.

Habineza emphasised that with RwandAir’s launch of direct flights to Lagos, there was a need to have a Nigerian Bureau of Consular Affairs that will facilitate Rwandans travelling to Nigeria and vice versa.

Previously, Rwandans wishing to travel to Nigerian had to apply for visas in Kampala, Uganda.
