AMAVUBI Coach Milutin Micho will put emotions aside when Rwanda face Sudan in tomorrow’s semi-final in Dar es Salaam.
The Serbian, who only assumed the Wasps reigns last month, has a long history with Sudanese football after guiding Al Hilal to the last four of the 2010 Orange Confederation Cup and the semi-final of this year’s Orange Champions League.
"Of course, I have worked with some of the players at Al Hilal and we achieved some good things together but this is a new chapter and I have a job to do for Rwanda,” he said, before conceding that the desert hawks who made light work of Burundi at the quarter-final stage (2-0) will be a hard nut to crack.
"Sudan is a very good team with plenty of experience and we know that it is going to be an even tougher game than Zanzibar,” Micho warned.
Sudan is using the competition as a warm-up ahead of next month’s 2012 Africa Nations Cup to be co-hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
Amavubi’s midfielder Andrew Buteera is expected to under-go a late fitness test after injuring his hip during Monday’s hotly contested quarter-final match with Zanzibar. Rwanda battled through to eventually secure a 2-1 win courtesy of goals from Jean Baptist Mugiraneza a.k.a Migi and Meddie Kagere. Mohd Abdulrahman netted Zanzibar’s consolation.
