The RDF makes me a proud Rwandan

RDF soldiers take part in an exercise to drain flood waters in Nyabugogo on Sunday. The New Times / File.

Editor,

After reading the lead story in the Monday issue of The New Times, I felt so proud to be Rwandan.  The Nyabugogo floods had basically brought life in the area to a standstill. The super busy commercial center had become somber. Traders wore worried faces as the water just kept rising.

The intervention of the Rwandan troops who worked with the residents and local leaders to unclog the water channels and protect the business is quite telling.

It is such attitude and mindset that is taking Rwanda places. I am proud of the men in uniform.
