AFTER weeks of preparation, the national U-19 girls cricket team coach Andre Kayitera expects a spirited display from his team in the upcoming ICC/ACA Eastern and Southern Africa U-19 Girls Cricket tournament slated for December 7-12 in Dar-es-salaam.

Last year, Rwanda won one of their four games to finish third but Kayitera does not see why the team cannot better that performance this time round.

"This year, we have more experience in the team because six of the players featured last year so that is a good starting point,” the senior national team player said, before adding, "I think the team has prepared much better than last year so ideally, we should expect more from them.”

Besides Rwanda and defending champions Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Djibouti and Zanzibar are in contention for the five-day tournament.

Rwanda squad: Betty Mukunzi, Delphine Mukarurangwa, Lillian Muhoza (Captain), Diane Ishimwe, Cathia Uwamahoro, Claudine Uwase, Mary Maina, Miriam Maina, Miriam Assimwe, Sandrine Mutuyimana, Nicole Ingabire, Gorette Mutoni, Veronica Iriho and Sonia Uwimana.
