Society Debate : Are beauty treatments worth it your time and money?

Yes, Yes, Yes! Clearly, people who haven’t been in for a massage or steam bath are the ones who assume it is a waste of money. It is either that or if they have been in for one, the masseuse had claws for fingers that left them utterly bruised! What I do not get is why people find it necessary to pry into other people’s lives, claiming they spend too much money on useless things. Provided no one goes around begging for money to go to the spa, I don’t see what the problem is.

There is a price to pay for beauty. Sure, we would all like to look as natural as possible but there is a slight problem: natural does not do it for everyone! If for example your hair insists on not growing an inch, surely whose business is it if you spend money  buying weaves and hair creams which will help you make your head look better?

When you leave that saloon looking like the million bucks you actually spent, the suggesting glances from men and envious glares from women tell you it was so worth it.

Nothing beats a day at the spa. It is rejuvenation at its best. Spas treat people to all sorts of facials using everything from avocado to white chocolate to bird poop! Yes, you will be amazed at the lengths some people go to to look hot.

E! Entertainment once aired a program about the most expensive things in the world. Imagine my shock on learning about a US$100,000 diamond massage! I wondered who, on earth, would pay that amount for a massage. I was hoping that clients got to take the diamonds home but not even that for crying out loud!

It was just too fancy but then again, it would not be there if they didn’t think anyone would go for it. Why not go for it if you have the money to spend?  It is your money. I am sure one can leave feeling like a diamond itself.

Makeup is all what some women have. I know a few who cannot set foot out of their house without mascara and lip-gloss. She will share a house with a guy and literally sleep and wake up with makeup on.

Her Mac powder and foundation and Yardley lipstick and gloss are never out of her sight. Moreover, any woman who knows her makeup knows that things like Mac powder and Yardley products do not come cheap.

It’s all about looking good. It doesn’t come cheap because not everyone is a natural so if one has the means to supplement his or her looks then where is the harm in that? A little beauty never killed anyone.

The only way it cannot be worth it is if you pay a lot of money for mediocre service. Now that has to be the most frustrating thing. Places with great recommendations should be where to start. It’s okay to pamper yourself once in a while. The world is not all stress and worry!
