Editor,

I am an East African currently working and living in Rwanda. EAC member countries need to learn a few things from Rwanda on the management of the environment more so the eradication of polythene bags.

Thus far, Rwanda is the only regional state where the law on polythene bags is fully implemented and working to benefit all Rwandans. Every Rwandan seems to know that it is their responsibility to safeguard the environment.  Regional environmental bodies can succeed in protecting the environment by working along with the people to ban polythene bags in East Africa.
