…..as fans voice their anger over lipsynch "live” performances

Thoughtfully, the most essential aspect a music fan on your holiday programme list needs at the moment are hot concerts -- unless, of course, you are from the other part of the world.

But do they really need playback performances? Probably not--- but artistes should have the courtesy to offer their fans live performances as an alternative to the much abhorred lip-synching.

On Friday, all roads lead to the Southern Provincial headquarters of Huye, where top-notch local musician Kamichi, will launch his "Umugabirwa” album at the National University of Rwanda (NUR).

Lil G, Nasson, Danny, Binny Relex, Ganzo, Just family, Rosy, J-Kid and Da Chim will entertain concertgoers at the gig. After the concert, all guests are invited for the after-party at Space Place.

And on Saturday, December 3, Kamichi’s fans in Kigali will celebrate the launch of his album in a concert dubbed "Aho Ruzingiye” to be graced by Jamaican dancehall musician, Elephant Man, alongside a selection of renowned local artistes.

"We are very pleased to inform Rwandans that Jamaican dancehall ace, Elephant Man will arrive in Kigali on Saturday at 11pm with a crew of seven people,” Joseph Mushyoma, the CEO of East African Promoters (EAP), told The New Times..

"However, he will perform in Uganda on Friday before coming to Rwanda.”

Elephant Man, also known as the Energy god is famous for his fervent hot performances that sometimes see him climb atop speaker boxes coupled with other stage antics.

The much anticipated "Aho Ruzingiye” concert, organised by the East Africa Promoters, will take place in Gikondo Expo Ground in Kigali – the entrance fee is Rfw5, 000. Urban Boys, Dream Boys, Jay Polly, Riderman and Knowles are lin3ed up for a performance.

Kamichi’s voice renowned for his unique voice has an album with a great variety of songs.
