Murekezi calls for innovation in public service delivery

The Minister of Public Service and Labour, Anastase Murekezi, has urged various government institutions to improve service delivery by being innovative. The Minister made the call Sunday while opening the executive leadership training for various senior government officials in Rubavu.

The Minister of Public Service and Labour, Anastase Murekezi, has urged various government institutions to improve service delivery by being innovative.

The Minister made the call Sunday while opening the executive leadership training for various senior government officials in Rubavu.

"The training will equip individuals with capacity to improve efficiency and service delivery in public institutions,” Murekezi said.

Participants at the second session of the training include senior government officials, including permanent secretaries of ministries, directors of planning, university rectors, and director generals among others.

Since 2004, the government has been undertaking vast and transformational reforms in the public sector meant to improve service delivery.

Murekezi also said that strategies, laws and policies that are deemed necessary for institutional and organisational capacity have been put in place.

The courses to be conducted by UK based National School of Government include; leadership and management skills, strategy and development policies, and managing people through change, innovation and creativity.
